Mike Schmitz started in public accounting in 1983, and although he tried to leave it for a couple years and work for a highly respected business, he realized that helping a variety of clients was in his DNA and returned to public accounting. 

His partner, Tonya Holmstrom, joined Mike in the practice after more than 15 years of experience in public accounting. She also tried to leave it for the private business sector and felt much the same – helping clients succeed personally and professionally was the only career path for her.
