Schuil Coffee Company is a small, family-owned coffee roaster and importer in the food and beverage services industry, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The founder, Garry Schuil, began importing and roasting premium arabica beans in 1981 after a transformative overseas trip, establishing Michigan’s first roaster focused on high-scoring, specialty-grade coffees. The company emphasizes bean quality, roasting consistency, and product freshness while aiming to offer good value. It serves discerning coffee drinkers and businesses that prefer specialty coffee over mainstream options. In January 2026, Schuil Coffee Company expanded its footprint through the acquisition of Leelanau Coffee Roasting Co. Based in Grand Rapids and operating as a small, family-owned business, Schuil continues to pursue its founding emphasis on quality and consistency in bean sourcing and roasting.
