We nurture critical thinking and creative problem-solving in students and teachers, leading to deeper understanding of our world and how to improve it through science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Science Pioneers (SciPi) inspires and encourages young people to pursue STEM studies to meet the demands of global competition and acquire the skills needed for 21st century careers. SciPi programs for students:  Greater KC Science & Engineering Fair: the region’s largest Science & Engineering Fair provides students an opportunity to use creative problem solving as they take charge of their learning &compete for awards.  Meet the STEM Mentor: students meet STEM professionals to discuss Science & Engineering Fair projects & STEM careers.  Saturday STEM Seminar: students in grades 7-12 learn about & discuss hot STEM topics and careers from STEM professionals.  Expanding Your Horizons: girls (EYH) in grades 6-8 experience hands-on STEM activities and learn about STEM careers while working with STEM professionals. For teachers, SP offers a variety of resources & professional development opportunities for new & experienced teachers through our ScienceWise online & face-to-face courses along with Strategic STEM Instruction, which incorporates the proven academic standards. SP's track record demonstrates our ability to strengthen STEM education in our region & make it relevant to students.
