The program centers on a Christ-centered approach aimed at fostering spiritual growth while supporting mental, physical, and social development within a biblical framework. Its summer ministry targets children, teens, and families, and relies on a staff model built around student volunteers and mentors.

Located in Wheelersburg, Ohio, the organization is categorized within the Religious Institutions sector. A notable feature is a summer staff program that brings in students who work with guests while pursuing personal and spiritual development through service. In early 2024, Scioto Hills announced the opening of a new location in Wheelersburg, and registrations for the 2024 summer camp were opened.
