The Scoliosis Research Society is an international organization dedicated to advancing research and education related to spinal deformities. Founded in 1966 with 37 members, the group is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and has grown into a global network of professionals engaged in both research and clinical treatment of spinal deformities. The society maintains strict membership criteria to ensure Fellows uphold its focus on scientific inquiry and education, with current members including spine surgeons, researchers, physician assistants, and orthotists. In the research services landscape, it serves as a platform for collaboration and professional development among specialists addressing spinal deformities. In 2024, SRS launched the L.E.A.D. SRS cohort, a program designed to provide leadership training for its members.
