About Us Monmouth Council, founded in 1917, has served generations of young people across Central Jersey with a steadfast commitment to character, leadership, and community service. Chartered to support Scouting units in Monmouth and Middlesex Counties, the council is one of the region’s largest and most impactful youth‑serving organizations. Through outdoor adventure, skill‑building programs, and values‑based leadership development, Monmouth Council empowers thousands of youth each year to grow into confident, responsible citizens. A New Era in Scouting On February 8, 2025, the Boy Scouts of America celebrated its 115th birthday and officially adopted its new name, Scouting America. This milestone reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to evolve with the needs of today’s youth and families while preserving the timeless principles of the Scout Oath and Law. Monmouth Council proudly carries this evolution forward, ensuring that every young person feels welcomed, supported, and inspired to lead. Our Mission Scouting America’s mission is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Monmouth Council advances this mission by delivering high‑quality programs, supporting dedicated volunteers, and fostering inclusive environments where youth can learn, lead, and thrive.
