SeeAbility is a UK charity that supports people with learning disabilities and autism, many of whom have sight loss, by providing eye-care services and advocating for accessible eye health. Based in Epsom, Surrey, it operates as a mid-sized nonprofit with a heritage spanning more than two centuries and is registered as The Royal School for the Blind. The organization aims to challenge common perceptions of disability and to help individuals pursue meaningful, ambitious lives. Its work focuses on removing barriers to eye care for its participants and improving access to screenings and treatment through collaboration with opticians and the NHS. In 2024, SeeAbility launched the Easy Eye Care Service, a program in which accredited opticians provide longer or multiple appointments and any adjustments that people with learning disabilities or autism may need, with involvement from the NHS. The charity also produces awareness materials and campaigns to raise understanding of vision issues in this population and to reduce obstacles to eye tests.
