The SEED School of Washington, D.C. is an urban public boarding high school located in Washington, District of Columbia. It was established in 1998 by The SEED Foundation, a national nonprofit that operates similar campuses. The school serves about 250 students in grades 9-12, and all students live on campus from Sunday evening through Friday afternoon. Dormitories are organized into small houses of 10-12 students, each supported by a life skills counselor to manage study halls, house meetings, and social activities, creating a safe, 24-hour on-campus residential setting. The program is designed to prepare students academically and socially for success in college and beyond, and 94% of graduates have been admitted to four-year colleges. The SEED School of Washington, D.C. is part of a broader education-focused network run by The SEED Foundation, which also opened The SEED School of Maryland in 2008.
