Self-Realization Fellowship is a non-profit, non-sectarian religious society established in 1920 by Paramahansa Yogananda to disseminate his Kriya Yoga teachings and help people realize their highest potential and deepest joy. Based in Los Angeles, California, the organization preserves Yogananda's works and provides the Self-Realization Fellowship Lessons, a home-study program guiding meditation practice and balanced living. The Fellowship operates a global network of more than 600 temples and centers with members in over 175 countries, while in India and neighboring regions its work continues under Yogoda Satsanga Society of India, which runs hundreds of centers, retreats, and ashrams. Its offerings center on meditation, the practice of Kriya Yoga, and the principles of balanced spiritual living drawn from Yogananda's writings, including Autobiography of a Yogi. In recent years, Self-Realization Fellowship has expanded online programs, such as How-to-Live classes for children and teens.
