Shades Mountain Baptist Church is a religious institution in the United States that operates with a mid-sized staff and emphasizes using its identity and resources to advance the gospel across the communities it serves. The church pursues its mission wherever it is located, applying its resources to support ministry and outreach. In July 2021, Shades Mountain Baptist Church announced the addition of Rev. George Wright, who had previously pastored Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia, South Carolina. An outreach effort is reflected in the Antioch Families initiative, which the church launched in March 2019 with three initial families. Since that launch, the church reports that about 20 unchurched or dechurched individuals have visited a Family as part of its outreach.
