Shasta Land Trust was founded in 1998 to conserve the beauty, character, and diversity of significant lands in far northern California. SLT works with willing landowners to conserve important properties in the northstate that have unique open space, habitat, agricultural, watershed, recreational, and scenic values. As a nationally accredited land trust that is led by local volunteers and exclusively focused on land and natural resources in northern California, Shasta Land Trust is uniquely suited to advance conservation successes in this area. Much of our work in years past has resulted in conservation easements on working ranchland in Shasta County, but we have also recently protected urban landscapes and natural areas. Shasta Land Trust currently holds conservation easements on over 21,000 acres of land in Shasta County.
