In 1997, Paula Thurman was passionate about her work, she drew upon her interests and experience and formulated a plan: She was going to open a children's hair salon. Full of enthusiasm and creative energy, she threw herself into overdive and opened the first Shear Madness location in Leawood, KS.  Through trial and error, she would effectively find the perfect combination for a successful business.  And successful it is:
