An employment relationship is similar in many ways to a marriage, except when issues arise in the workplace, there is so much more at stake for both parties in navigating the minefield of state and federal laws when issues arise, which they inevitably will.  

This is where I come in to advise, advocate, defend, and resolve disputes that arise between the parties to effectuate the most cost-effective solution.  Proactive employers who regularly institute, follow, and regularly update employee handbooks, policies and practices, train management to ensure its employees are following these policies, significantly minimize their risk, when -- not if -- the employer is sued.  Likewise, employees who believe that they are unlawfully -- not unfairly -- treated by their employers, must also protect their rights in the workplace.
