The Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center is a nonprofit, nonsectarian community service organization located on 14 acres in Bridgewater, New Jersey. It opened in December 1999 after local families organized fundraising and planning to bring a JCC to the tri-county area, and it now serves residents across Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties with fitness, recreation, social, cultural and educational programming, acting as a central hub for Jewish education and culture. The facility features heated indoor and outdoor salt-based pools, a dome-enclosed outdoor pool for year-round use, and a recently renovated and expanded fitness center with multiple studios and a gymnasium, offering more than 80 fitness classes per week. Governance is provided by a board of directors in collaboration with professional staff to deliver programs that meet the needs of both Jewish and general communities. In December 2023, the township partnered with the center for a community event, illustrating its role as a local partner for residents and events.
