CELEBRATING 100 YEARS OF LEGAL SERVICE In 1900, Seattle had a population of 80,671. By 1910 the population had increased to 237,194. In 1914 the Smith Tower was completed and was the tallest office building west of the Mississippi River until the Kansas City Power & Light Building was built in 1931. In 1915 attorneys George Rummens and Tracy Griffin formed the law firm of Rummens & Griffin. It consisted of two attorneys and one secretary. Over time the name of the firm changed: 1949 Rummens, Griffin & Short 1951 Rummens, Griffin, Short & Cressman 1964 Short, Cressman & Cable 1980 Short & Cressman 1987 Short Cressman & Burgess Today , just like the last 100 years, the firm's attorneys and staff stand for results, service and integrity.
