The Mid America Freedom Band, also known as Show-Me Pride Ensembles, is a Kansas City-based musical organization serving LGBTQ+ and allied communities. It provides opportunities for instrumental performance, outreach, and social advocacy to foster an inclusive, diverse music scene in the Kansas City area. By presenting premieres and commissions, the ensemble broadens wind band repertoire beyond the traditional canon and highlights voices and stories that have been underrepresented. As a small organization with a limited staff, it focuses on creating a safe space for members to participate in music and advocacy. In December 2025, the group appointed Dr. Daniel Kirk as Artistic Director, effective December 1, 2025.
