Shulman + Associates (S+A) was found by Allan Shulman, FAIA in 1996. S+A is a Miami-based full service architecture, urban design, interior design, graphic and exhibit design firm; its projects have received 70 design awards and are widely published. S+A has designed over 20 hotels and 25 retail projects for global brands including Soho House, Kimpton, Apple, Forever21, H&M, AllSaints, Zara and others. A graduate of Cornell and the University of Miami, Allan is also an associate professor at the University of Miami School of Architecture. He is a prolific author and editor who lectures widely both on the work of his office and on themes of modernism, tropicality and hospitality. In his research and in his design work, Allan is committed to the conservation and elaboration of a city’s built heritage, contributing a signature, interdisciplinary style that reinterprets the existing fabric of the city while introducing contemporary themes and structures. Inspired by Allan’s vision, S+A synthesizes the distinct circumstances of each project into designs that are relevant and transformative.
