Shumla Archaeological Research and Education Center is a research organization focused on preserving, studying, and sharing ancient and endangered prehistoric rock art from the Lower Pecos Canyonlands of Texas. Its work centers on documentation, research, stewardship, and education, with the aim of making this heritage accessible to the wider world and to future generations. Serving researchers, educators, and the public with an emphasis on long-term preservation, the center addresses challenges such as environmental threats and vandalism that can impact rock art sites.
