Sigma Chi (Σχ) was founded on June 28, 1855, at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. It was created by seven men between the ages of 14 to 25 as a literary society. The Fraternity's primary purpose, they believed, was to appreciate, develop and promote the core values of Friendship, Justice and Learning. Today, our mission is to develop values-based leaders committed to the betterment of character, campus and community. Sigma Chi's vision is to become the preeminent collegiate leadership development organization — aligned, focused and living our core values.
