Silver Vase is a farming company established in 1988 by Andrew Bartha and his wife Ilma, after they spent over a decade running other firms in the industry. The operation began on a 5,000-square-foot shade-house site in Homestead, Florida. After Hurricane Andrew destroyed the facilities in 1992, the team rebuilt quickly and expanded into a leading potted plant producer in North America. Today, the company operates a modern greenhouse network totaling nearly 1 million square feet across multiple locations in the United States and Canada, with automated and environmentally conscious production practices. In 2004, Silver Vase began operating its own distribution trucks to serve both retail and wholesale customers in the horticulture market. Production rose from 400,000 units in 1997 to nearly 2 million units by 2004.
