The Sisters of St. Joseph Brentwood is a Catholic women’s religious order based in Brentwood, New York, with a 160-year history of ministering where needed. As the largest Catholic women’s religious order on Long Island, it comprises more than 500 members and operates across the Dioceses of Brooklyn and Rockville Centre, the New York Archdiocese, and communities in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Florida, Indiana, New Jersey, Washington, D.C., Appalachia, California, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and Brazil. On its Brentwood campus, the order runs The CSJ Learning Connection for Adult Education, the Maria Regina skilled nursing facility, an Organic Garden, and the St. Josephs Renewal Center. It supports education and social services through five girls’ schools in New York—Fontbonne Hall Academy, The Mary Louis Academy, Sacred Heart Academy, St. Joseph High School, and Bishop Kearney High School—and Academia Maria Reina in San Juan, Puerto Rico, as well as Providence House and Hour Children, programs that assist incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women and their children in Brooklyn, Queens and Westchester.
