The Sivyer Steel story began over 100 years ago in Milwaukee. Operations moved to Bettendorf, Iowa in 1962 where Sivyer has produced the highest quality steel casting products for use in the global construction, energy, military, mining and transportation industries. But, earlier in this decade economic uncertainty, foreign competition and other factors resulted in weakening demand for steel casting products and a slowdown in Sivyer business volumes. In response, a pro-active management team took decisive action to re-position Sivyer and ensure the company’s long-term viability.

Under the protection of a bankruptcy filing in March 2018, management implemented a plan to re-structure finances, update production, and ramp-up sales efforts. The market response was favorable. Customer orders increased; jobs were preserved; and, Sivyer returned to profitability and industry leadership. As a result, the company emerged from bankruptcy within months, reinvigorated by new, locally-based ownership and experienced “turnaround” operational executive leadership. Today, Sivyer Steel Castings is more robust and more competitive than ever.
