Skip-a-Long Child Development Services has provided high quality early care and education since 1970. We are part of SAL Family and Community Services, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children and families thrive in our community by providing high-quality child care and support services that make a positive impact! Skip-a-Long operates seven early care and education centers in Milan, Rock Island, and Moline, Illinois, and Davenport, Iowa, offering: * Year-round care for children 6 weeks to 12 years old * Enhanced Preschool programs that follow Iowa and Illinois Early Learning Standards * Before/After school and summer programs for school-age children * Nutritionally-balanced meals and educational play in a safe, nurturing environment * In-house mental health therapists that work one-on-one with children to provide support to teachers Skip-a-Long also operates the Home Child Care Network (HCCN) - "Quality Child Care in a Personal Home Setting" * Provides families with a network of licensed, qualified home-based child care providers who offer more flexible 1st shift, 2nd shift, 3rd shift, weekend, and holiday care * Enhanced Preschool programs are offered in select homes We also offer crisis assistance with our Open Door program - "Helping You to Help Yourself" * A one-stop resource for families or individuals in crisis * Funded through the Illinois Department of Human Services to provide immediate intervention and assistance, including food, clothing, housing, employment search help, and referrals to additional support services * Provides resources for individuals and families to further themselves toward self-sufficiency and lifelong success
