Sleep Outfitters is a regional retailer focused on mattresses and sleep-related products. The company operates about 100 stores across six states and employs a sizeable workforce to support its storefronts and services. Based in Lexington, Kentucky, the business traces its beginnings to 1983 when its first store opened in West Virginia, and it has since expanded into Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, and West Virginia. Some stores formerly branded Mattress King or Mattress Warehouse have been consolidated under the Sleep Outfitters name.
In May 2025, Sleep Outfitters USA LLC sold assets to Mattress Warehouse, Inc., with Mattress Warehouse acquiring 103 Sleep Outfitters locations as part of a larger deal. The acquisition contributed to Mattress Warehouse crossing the 500-store threshold, expanding its retail footprint.
