Smart Works Birmingham operates as a UK charity within the professional training and coaching sector, providing clothing, coaching, and confidence support to unemployed women preparing for interviews. At the core is an Interview Dressing and Preparation Service that gives each client a complete outfit free of charge to keep, alongside one-to-one interview coaching. Across Smart Works' UK network, which began in 2013, there have been more than 40,000 women supported before interviews through 10 centres, with about 68% securing employment within a month of their appointment.

Opened in 2016, the Birmingham center has helped around 4,500 women across the West Midlands ahead of their interviews. Operating from Birmingham, the center serves the West Midlands region as part of the national Smart Works network.
