Smartville is a Carlsbad, CA company focused on the EV battery circularity ecosystem. Started in 2019 from research at the University of California - San Diego, Smartville's proprietary technology, Battery Connect, connects to, communicates with, and controls the electric vehicle's battery management system. These functions allow the unrealized potential of second-life batteries to be fully tapped by reusing or repurposing batteries for their best use. From battery state of health and state of safety assessment with our Periscope to a full-scale customized energy storage system, Smartville's product line supports reducing waste streams, reliance on foreign supply chains, and raw material extraction. By identifying EV battery best use, logistics costs can also be reduced by vectoring batteries directly to their end destination with minimal intermediary stops.
