Smile Liberia was formed to provide impoverished children of war-ravished Liberia with access to quality education.

Smile Liberia executes its mission by providing primary school children in the poorest parts of Liberia, as well as ex-child soldiers and orphans with much needed educational incentives such as: school supplies, textbooks, school building and renovations, scholarships, playgrounds, uniforms and clothing, etc.

Liberia has an illiteracy rate of approximately 80%; about 60% of this number comes from children and youth in the poorest parts of the country. Additionally, 61% of school- age children are out of school due to poverty and the consequences of almost 15 years of war in the country.
