Boutique scale Small, focused firm with 2-10 employees presents an opportunity for personalized services and high-touch project management. Target potential clients seeking agile collaboration, rapid decision-making, and cost-effective, customized design solutions in commercial interiors and renovations.

Full-service lean As a full-service design firm spanning interiors, space planning, new construction, and renovations, Smits Associates can upsell integrated packages to clients looking to consolidate vendor relationships, reduce coordination risk, and accelerate project timelines.

Tech-enabled design Existing tech stack elements like Google Analytics and Nginx suggest digital maturity; leverage this to position as a data-informed designer and propose services around BIM data management, analytics-driven space planning, or client dashboard transparency to attract larger corporate customers.

Revenue growth lens With reported revenue in the mid-range of the SME segment, there is targetable upside through pursuit of mid-market commercial projects, government interiors, or multi-site rollouts where Smits can scale collaboration with general contractors and developers.

Competitive positioning Compare to mid-to-large firms in architecture and planning; emphasize nimbleness, bespoke interiors, and faster procurement cycles as differentiators for clients weary of big-firm bureaucracy, creating a gateway to growth through strategic partnerships.
