Sober Living Halfway House Search is the largest pictorial and descriptive search database of sober living and halfway houses in the world. It is by far the premiere "go-to" site for anybody who wishes to find recovery housing.

Before bringing the site online in October of 2010, we spent about 18 months combing the countryside for houses to initially enter into the database. All employees who helped pull the data together are a part of the recovery community, and helping build a site that should help a lot of people has generated a great deal of pride and excitement.

We anticipate an initial base of about 8,000 homes to seed the search engine before managers and owners catch on and start to join. By doing so they can add pictures and descriptions, amenities and licenses or associations and much more, to make their page glow with the features that make their house special. 

Last but not least, the site includes an important component which consists of a public pledge a house manager/owner can make about how he or she is going to manage their house. Even though this is a general type of pledge about running a house in the guests' best interests, it is perhaps the first time many houses will have made a public commitment to abide by certain general guidelines.
  
The houses that take this pledge will be awarded with a STARR sober living network logo which they can display with pride. STARR is an anachronism for Sobriety, Trust And Recovery Reputation.
