The mission of the organization is to advance the professional practice of adjunct faculty through certification, education, and collaboration to enhance post secondary student learning. SoCAFE has identified 10 Core Competencies that address the general population of adjunct faculty regardless of the discipline they teach, the level of their students, or the setting where learning occurs (i.e. classroom or distance education). Our 10 Core Competencies provide a systematic and comprehensive foundation in the teaching-learning process (pedagogy) that augments the teacher's content knowledge.
