Based in Chicago, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Chicago operates in the Individual and Family Services sector, delivering essential resources to people in need. As a Catholic lay organization guided by Gospel values, it mobilizes volunteers to provide person-to-person aid regardless of creed or background. Volunteers visit households in pairs, support community dinners and food pantries, and assist with utilities, rent, transportation, and other services to help prevent poverty. The Archdiocesan Chicago Council coordinates the effort across Cook and Lake counties, supported by more than 3,000 Vincentian volunteers from about 120 local churches. In 2021, Curt Schubert was appointed as Treasurer for the Society, taking office on October 1.
