Legacy Turbine Conversions Soloy has a long history of turbine conversions for piston helicopters (Hiller, Bell 47) and fixed-wing aircraft (Cessna 206/207) with FAA STCs and proven reliability, indicating potential upsell opportunities for maintenance, parts, and modernization services to existing operators.

Current Operators Active use by government and law enforcement agencies (DEA, RCMP, Costa Rica Ministry of Public Security) suggests demand for durable, low-noise, reliable turbine conversions in mission-critical roles; potential for service contracts, parts supply, and field support.

Soloy Aviation Solutions is a small company in the airlines and aviation sector based in Olympia, Washington, founded in 1969. It specializes in converting piston-powered aircraft to turbine power, beginning with rotorcraft and later extending to light fixed-wing airplanes. The firm earned FAA Supplemental Type Certificate approvals for turbine conversions of Hiller piston helicopters in 1975, enabling a program that installed turbines in more than 170 Hiller helicopters, most of which were completed between 1975 and 1985 and many remain in operation today. It later applied the same concept to Bell 47 helicopters, achieving over 140 installations, after which Soloy sold the related STCs and no longer owns those conversion products. The last turbine-converted Bell 47 produced by Soloy is noted in its history.
