A full size symphonic orchestra, the Sonoma County Philharmonic was conceived from and supported by its resident communities in 1998. Created by a group of musicians dedicated to reinventing the symphony orchestra as we know it, we have grown from our modest beginnings as the Cotati Philharmonic to become the premier professional volunteer orchestra in the North Bay Area.

We have created and given scores of concert events for tens of thousands of audience members, all offered in service of our mission: to make the beauty of music and the power of community alive and available for everyone.

The Orchestra consists of 60-75 professional volunteer musicians as well as scores of dedicated and passionate non-musical volunteers from around Sonoma County and the North Bay area. Decidedly inclusive, our events provide engaging, exciting programming and are enjoyed by people from every walk of life.
