The South African Police Service (SAPS) is the national police force of South Africa, operating within the law enforcement sector. Its constitutional mandate covers preventing, combating and investigating crime; maintaining public order; protecting inhabitants and their property; and upholding and enforcing the law to create a safe and secure environment for all communities. It also seeks to address underlying causes of crime and to ensure that offenders are brought to justice. Serving communities nationwide, SAPS operates under the framework of South Africa's Constitution and functions as the primary public safety authority in the country. A recent development illustrating collaboration with external partners, Boxer Superstores joined Umlazi SAPS to refurbish the Victim Friendly Facility at the Umlazi Police Station, reflecting ongoing efforts to support crime victims and strengthen community safety.
