Building community. Advancing coverage. Empowering South Asian voices. The South Asian Journalists Association (SAJA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting and supporting journalists of South Asian descent, as well as those covering South Asia and its global diaspora. Our mission is to foster community, provide professional resources, and promote accurate, nuanced coverage of South Asia and South Asians in North America. Since 1994, SAJA has served as a trusted forum for journalists committed to excellence, inclusion, and the critical role of a free press. We offer networking opportunities, career development programs, scholarships, and reporting grants, while championing journalism that deepens public understanding of South Asian communities around the world.
