South Asian Network (SAN) is a community-based organization in Artesia, California, dedicated to advancing health, solidarity, and empowerment for South Asian Americans in Southern California. The organization operates through three program areas: AWAZ Voices Against Violence, which supports survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault; the Community Health Action Initiative, which aims to ensure access to quality health care; and the Civil Rights Unit, which advocates on citizenship and civic engagement issues. SAN emphasizes multilingual, culturally appropriate outreach and direct services, alongside policy advocacy in public health, violence prevention and intervention, hate crime and discrimination, immigration, and civil liberties. Based in the region’s “Little India,” SAN has established long-standing programs that engage thousands of South Asian Americans through diverse activities over the past decade.
