The South Carolina BHDD Office of Mental Health is the reorganized arm of the state's mental health and developmental services, formed under Act No. 3 of 2025 to function within the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. It comprises the Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, the Office of Mental Health, and the Office of Substance Use Services, and is based in Columbia. The organization provides mental health care, developmental disability supports, and substance use services to residents of South Carolina, coordinating these offerings through its three offices. It engages with community partners and public agencies to host events and expand access to care, including collaborations such as a 2026 partnership with the Beckman Center for Mental Health Services. It has also provided online screening tools since 2020 and has supported initiatives like online mental health resources and youth-focused screening programs in partnership with other agencies.
