It serves the Mid-Atlantic region and the North American Heartland, moving more than four million tons of bulk, breakbulk, and containerized cargo each year. Headquartered in Camden, New Jersey, SJPC functions within the transportation, logistics, supply chain and storage sector and has invested in infrastructure and equipment to support growth and reliable port operations, including multi-million-dollar capital programs in 2024. Leadership changes took place in 2025, with Joseph A. Maressa Jr. named Chairman and William R. Higgins as Vice-Chairman, while longtime Chairman Richard A. Alaimo stepped down from the role but remains on the board. The organization has pursued partnerships and community initiatives, such as a 2023 collaboration with Clipper Group Ltd. and a 2026 effort to support seafarers during Mental Health Awareness Month through a partnership with the Seamen's Church Institute of Philadelphia & South Jersey.
