The "Success for All" reading program, implemented from preschool through fifth grade, provides individualized instruction tailored to each child's unique needs, resulting in significant improvements in reading proficiency.

A recent $80 million bond initiative will fund significant upgrades to all district facilities, including the construction of a new Innovation Center. This center will focus on Career Technical Education (CTE) programs, encompassing fields like construction and building trades, welding, healthcare professions, and hospitality and tourism. Also included at Thurston High School next door is Autotechnology.
