The Southeastern Wind Coalition is a nonprofit organization focused on advancing both land-based and offshore wind development in the Southeastern United States, aiming to deliver net economic benefits to industry participants, utilities, and residents. It operates with a data-driven, objective approach and engages closely with utilities through a Utility Advisory Group to inform policy discussions and industry decisions. Based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, the organization partners with universities and a broad network of industry players, government bodies, academic institutions, and related nonprofits to provide objective, fact-based information on wind energy. The coalition was selected in 2014 by the U.S. Department of Energy to lead the Southeast Wind Energy Resource Center, reflecting its role as a resource for decision makers. In late 2025, it hosted its Onshore Wind Summit in Atlanta, bringing together utilities, developers, service providers, researchers, and NGOs to discuss wind energy development in the region.
