Southern College of Optometry (SCO) is a higher education institution in Memphis, Tennessee, founded in 1932 and located at 1245 Madison Avenue. It is one of 21 optometry schools and colleges in the United States. SCO offers a four-year Doctor of Optometry program that prepares graduates to perform refractive eye examinations, fit corrective lenses or provide vision therapy, and diagnose and treat ocular diseases. In 2026 SCO announced a major expansion in Memphis that includes modernization of its 11-story tower front, campus expansion, and the Eye Center clinic. In April 2026 SCO welcomed two new members to its Board of Trustees, Belinda Starkey and William McDonald.
