Southern Dance Theatre offers a broad spectrum of dance instruction for students from early childhood through adulthood, serving dancers of all levels in the performing arts. Since 1983, it has been a recognized presence in South Florida's dance education scene, with graduates who have progressed to professional companies and higher education institutions such as The Juilliard Conservatory, Martha Graham Dance Company, and New World School of the Arts in Miami. The school operates programs and groups that support diverse interests, including a Dance Movement program for special populations and resident ensembles such as the Elite Ballet Program, Dancer's Edge Company, and Special Arts Ensemble. Based in Lake Worth, Florida, the organization serves the local performing arts community and seeks to provide instruction for both career-oriented dancers and individuals seeking fitness, enjoyment, or self-improvement. It recently relocated to a new facility on North Dixie Highway, reflecting its ongoing presence in the area. In 2022 it expanded access by launching an Open Adult Ballet class.
