Southland was founded in 1950 by Ernest Ellis as the Downtown Kwik Carwash in Grand Rapids.  In the early 1960's Southland expanded to 28th SW, in Wyoming, where it still operates a full service carwash with expert automotive detailing.  Southland now consists of 5 carwash locations.  The other four are high speed, high quality exterior carwash locations which feature free vacuums for customer use, state of the art equipment and technology including washing process with gentle foam material, filtered reclaimed process water which allows us to save over 3 million gallons per year, per location.  Southland is the only Grand Rapids area carwash certified by the International Carwash Association as a Water Saver.  Southland is open 7 days, and has been voted the "Best of Grand Rapids" every year that the award has been voted by Grand Rapids Magazine readers.  This is a 3rd generation family company which supports Local First, and employs 60 local people in its operations.
