The mission of Special Olympics Utah (SOUT) is to provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Utah, a chapter of Special Olympics Inc., was established in 1969. SOUT receives no local, state or federal government support and is not affiliated with United Way. SOUT is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit Utah corporation.

Special Olympics Utah has been the leader in helping individuals with intellectual disabilities find their voice and their strengths through the platform of sports training and competition.
