Created in 1972 by the City of Spokane, the Spokane Housing Authority (SHA) serves Spokane, Lincoln, Pend Orielle, Stevens, and Whitman counties. SHA annually provides housing assistance to over 5,000 families of low income through a combination of tenant-based rental assistance, SHA-owned apartment communities, and scattered-site housing.
