A worldwide project about happiness. Thousands of photogaphs of the Smiley Face as it appears in everyday objects. Photo submitted via Facebook group: Spontaneous Smiley. Objective: Build a community of people happily taking time to notice the little things. Comments of participants: The Spontaneous Smiley project changed my perspective. I find it frames the world in a more positive way. I'm always scanning for the smile that's inevitably there. It warms my heart that I'm part of a worldwide group enjoying the simple pleasure of an unexpected smile. I think this is a great "movement." Positive, quirky and free entertainment. I think this is the most creative 'project' I have seen in a long time. Everywhere you go something is SMILING AT YOU ! It's Great. 5 more smileys today...OMG I'm becoming addicted I wanted to let you know that I've been using images from this group in my classroom. I teach digital art. I start my lecture showing several smiley pictures as examples of how images cannot only be found in unexpected places, but can also be designed to do double duty . . . I found that using the smileys has really helped my students see more than originally meets the eye. I like this idea very much. When we focus on something, more of whatever it is comes into our lives. Why not focus some group energy on smiles and see what happens? I think this is the cutest idea. Seeing all of the smiley faces and just how many people are participating brings a smile to my own face. From Ruth to the group: I have been truly touched by all of the messages. I often feel like I'm kind of a goof, in my own sappy little world, then I hear from about half a dozen of you on an average day all about how much fun and happiness this project has given you and I FEEL SO LCUKY!
