Spread Networks, LLC is a private telecommunications provider based in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Launched in August 2010, it operates a dedicated long-haul fiber route between the greater New York and greater Chicago metropolitan areas, offering both dark fiber and lit services with very low latency. The route, totaling 825 fiber miles, is described as the shortest and most diverse link between the two cities, including a New Jersey segment and multiple intermediate points in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and New Jersey, serving wholesale carriers, enterprises, and financial firms. In late 2017, Zayo Group Holdings, Inc. announced it would acquire Spread Networks, and the transaction closed in 2018, integrating Spread Networks into Zayo's operations. The company has claimed reliability above 99.999% since its launch.
