St. Benilde School is a parochial school serving the families of St. Benilde Parish and the greater New Orleans community. We serve children from nursery through Seventh Grade. At St. Benilde School, we learn different. We offer a personalized curriculum that is centered on the unique learning needs of each child, whether they are six weeks old or getting ready to enter high school. We do this by driving highly relevant data about each child's learning needs using state-of-the-art benchmark assessments measuring everthing from literacy level to socialization skills to find motor skills. We then take that data to create class lesson plans utilizing whole group, small group, computer-based, and one-on-one methods. We use a wide variety of print, manipulative, and digital resources to support student learning. Finally, we support teachers and students with learning specialists and paraprofessionals in literacy, numeracy, exceptional learning needs, and enrichment. Working together as colleagues and practitioners, we have abandoned the "one size fits some" industrial model of education and replaced it with a dynamic laboratory approach that has led to substantial learning gains for all students regardless of their socioeconomic circumstances. Free of the constraints placed upon schools in the public and charter systems, we focus each day on using the best available research to reach students and give our teachers the freedom to apply this research in novel ways in order to reach students. Why do we do this? Because a truly human and Catholic education must preserve each child's God-given dignity, and that is done by creating a curriculum that is centered around the needs of each individual child. At St. Benilde School, your Child is our curriculum.
