St. Elmo Steak House is a historic dining establishment in downtown Indianapolis, operating as a restaurant focused on high quality steaks, seafood and chops served with professional service. Founded in 1902 by Joe Stahr, it is the oldest Indianapolis steakhouse in its original location and has built a national reputation for its refined menu and attentive service. The venue retains a turn of the century Chicago saloon ambiance, including a tiger oak back bar, with limited changes through successive expansions.

Located in the downtown dining scene, it has historically attracted business-focused patrons and notable guests seeking a traditional, upscale dining experience. Under the leadership of Stephen Huse, with his son Craig as the current operator, the restaurant maintains its classic atmosphere and refined menu while employing a mid sized staff to support operations. As a member of the restaurant industry, it is positioned as a heritage destination known for consistent quality and professional service.
