For more than 60 years, St. Joan Antida High School has offered a safe space for young women to compete and excel academically, thrive artistically, and grow in faith so that they will be able to “lead and serve in a global society.” We dream for our girls before they know how to dream for themselves; we push our girls so that they will have futures determined by their own hard work and determination. St. Joan Antida High School is an all-girl Catholic school sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of St. Joan Antida (SCSJA). With sisters in more than 27 countries, their commitment to the empowerment of young women is a global effort that is rooted in the life’s work of our patroness, Jeanne Antide Thouret (St. Joan Antida). Educating young women is the key to changing the trajectory of lives in families and communities throughout the world. St. Joan Antida High School is a college preparatory International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. Through rigorous academic achievement, students are able to leave high school with up to 24 credits toward their college degrees. All coursework promotes an understanding of other cultures and world views through a rich internationally minded framework for learning. Students discover their own calling through service and creative projects and discover critical thinking strategies through reflection and course work in Theory of Knowledge. Students explore how they know what they know. Additionally, St. Joan Antida High School offers the only bridge to college program in Engineering for young women in this community. Through a partnership with the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) and course work in the IB Career-related program in Engineering, young women interested in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) related career can earn acceptance to MSOE and deeply reduced college tuition.
